The White House coronavirus response coordinator said Thursday the possibility exists for the country to get COVID-19 case counts low enough for children to return to school.

Dr. Deborah Birx, appearing on Fox Newsโ€™ โ€œFox & Friends,โ€ said there are school districts where the coronavirus test positivity rate in the community is under five percent.

โ€œWhat we want is the whole country to be able to go back to school and all those case counts down to what we call โ€˜green states,’โ€ she said, CNN reported.

Birx said that will happen by โ€œdoing what the president has asked,โ€ including wearing masks, social distancing, and avoiding gatherings where social distancing isnโ€™t possible.
