Bruce Williamson, a former lead singer with The Temptations, has died at age 49.

Williamson, who joined the legendary group in 2006, died at a Las Vegas hospital Sunday night after a battle with the novel coronavirus, TMZ reported.

As a member of The Temptations, Williamson, a Compton, Calif., native, was brought into the groupโ€™s ever-changing lineup alongside Otis Williams, its lone remaining founding member. He sang lead on their studio albums โ€œStill Hereโ€ and โ€œBack To Frontโ€ before leaving the group in 2015.

โ€œThereโ€™s no words in the world that can express how I feel right now,โ€ Williamsonโ€™s son, Bruce Jr., wrote on Facebook. โ€œI love you Daddy thank you for being awesome thank you for being loving thank you for being Who You Are I pray to God and we will meet again. โ€œI love you Daddy R.I.H KING WILLIAMSON.โ€
