As the holiday season winds down, the DMV offers a weekend packed with cultural performances, festive attractions and community-centered gatherings across the region. 

From Christmas Day football and Kwanzaa celebrations, to immersive theater, karaoke nights and waterfront light displays, there are plenty of ways for residents and visitors to stay engaged and connected through the weekend.

Washington Commanders vs. Dallas Cowboys

Christmas Dinner at Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill

Celebrate Christmas with a delicious holiday meal at the newly-renovated Article One – American Grill.

The holiday meal will be served between noon and 10 p.m, featuring prime rib served with garlic whipped potatoes, locally sourced seasonal vegetables, and port au jus. Seating is available on a first come first served basis.

Additionally, between now and New Year’s Day, Article One – American Grill is providing an ongoing holiday dining special. The meal features a French dip prime rib sandwich topped with Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, and served on house-made artisanal French bread, accompanied by port au jus with French fries or a side salad.

Kwanzaa At ACM: Umoja- Opening Program

This event marks the start of the Anacostia Community Museum’s annual Kwanzaa celebration, featuring storytelling, music and cultural activities that highlight the principles of Umoja (unity) and engage families and community members in honoring African American heritage.

Presented by the Anacostia Community Museum, the event celebrates Kwanzaa through educational programming and interactive experiences that promote cultural understanding. 

Tickets are available in advance, and participants are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the full lineup of activities.

Holiday Art Show & Sale
