Keith Golden Jr. is a senior journalism major and political science minor at Howard University from Riviera Beach, Florida. Specializing in documentary photography and documentary filmmaking, Golden believes in cultivating hope within his news stories. There are two primary issues he seeks to address through his work: First, the oversaturation of negativity in the news cycle. Second, the ignorance many people have about lives and struggles beyond their own. Golden has witnessed the transformative power of a single image. A powerful photo can stir emotion, spark action and shift public consciousness. He wants to use his lens — both literally and figuratively — to create that kind of change. He aspires to be an international documentary photographer and filmmaker, traveling the world while using his skills to tell stories that can change the world.
