The annual Celebration of Service to America Awards, produced by the NAB Leadership Foundation, was held Tuesday, June 11 at the Anthem in Southwest, honoring radio and television broadcasters from across the country for exceptional community service.
During the evening, singer/songwriter John Legend received NABLFโs highest honor, the Service to America Leadership Award. LG Electronics USA received the Corporate Leadership Award. Explore.
The program also included a performance by students from the Districtโs Duke Ellington School of the Arts who shared a musical tribute to Legend.
Elected officials who attended and served as award presenters included Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.), Rep. Tim Walberg (R-Mich.), Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) and FCC Commissioner Michael OโRielly.
Past recipients of the Leadership Award include Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, Glenn Close, Jeff Bridges, Quincy Jones, Sir Elton John, Bill Clinton, Laura Bush and Muhammad Ali.
