The heavy rain, lightning, thunder, winds over 100 miles per hour, debris and power outages overnight aren’t stopping the music and good vibes coming to Northwest Stadium Friday, Sept. 4 through Sunday, Sept. 6 with Afro Plus Fest.
While the weather caused damage and countywide closures across Prince George’s, after working through the night, the Afro Plus planning and safety team has confirmed the venue is structurally secure and the festival will continue as planned.
Ticket holder pickup will start at 1 p.m. at Northwest Box Office. Parking lots open at noon and gates open at 4 p.m.
With Labor Day weekend in full swing, the festival team encourages attendees to allow time for traffic delays, particularly as cleanup and restoration continue post-storm.
“We packed this weekend so full that the goal is for you not to be able to finish the festival in one day,” said Michael Awosanya, Afro Plus founder and executive producer. “We wanted to create as much value as we possibly could for every ticket holder. You could come all three days and still miss something. We built it for the fans first.”
