Karen Dale, market president of AmeriHealth Caritas District of Columbia, a Medicaid-managed care plan serving the District of Columbia and a member of the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies, has been named to the 2017 DC Powermeter 100 list by El Tiempo Latino.
Dale was recently honored at the inaugural Powermeter 100 in Washington, an event that recognized 100 of the most influential individuals in Hispanic communities throughout D.C., northern Virginia and suburban Maryland. El Tiempo Latino, the District’s largest Spanish newspaper, hosted the award ceremony at the Washington Post Live Center.
“I’m both excited and grateful to be included among such amazing people doing magnificent work to better the lives of all those living in the District and the surrounding area,” Dale said. “The work being done to create more opportunities in Hispanic neighborhoods is truly a team effort, and I’m proud to be a part of this team of visionary leaders.”
As market president for the largest Medicaid managed care organization in the District of Columbia, Dale spearheads a variety of initiatives and programs designed to improve Hispanic residents’ access to health benefits and services. She has also been instrumental in driving philanthropic support for community organizations and agencies, working to address adverse social determinants faced by many members of the Hispanic community.
“Karen is well-known for her work in the community and unyielding efforts to bring equitable opportunities to diverse neighborhoods,” said Javier Marin, publisher and chief executive officer of El Tiempo Latino. “Her drive and work ethic are admirable, and above all, she is an excellent partner in our mission to bridge the divides in this country and enhance quality of life for Hispanic residents.”
