A municipality in China has donated 40,000 medical-grade face masks to Annapolis to help fight the coronavirus, city officials announced.
The masks arrived earlier this month, almost four months after Changsha officials made the offer to Annapolis, The Associated Press reported Wednesday.
The Maryland capital and Changsha established a sister city relationship as a result of the efforts of a former city administrator, AP reported.
A note accompanying the shipment encouraged Annapolis residents to persevere through the pandemic. In response to the donation, Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley sent Changsha officials a book of photographs of his city.
