Project Blackbird is a nonprofit organization that provides free mental health resources and a platform for students to share their stories, partnering with clinicians, dietitians, treatment centers, and influencers to address mental health issues and offer free therapy to up to a year.

Zerline Hughes Spruill curates Our House DC, The Washington Informer's monthly newsletter encouraging Black homeownership in Wards 7 and 8. A Ward 7 resident herself, Zerline's reporting and writing has been published in the Los Angeles Times, Ebony magazine, the Boston Globe, Dance magazine and HBCU Times. Her communications expertise helped fuel criminal legal system policy change while managing outreach and engagement for several national organizations in Washington, D.C. She is a proud Howard University alumna and loves to dance.
