President Joe Biden reportedly has Rahm Emanuel, the outspoken former Chicago mayor and Obama White House administrator, on a shortlist for a top ambassadorship.

The brash Emanuel, who was Barack Obama’s chief of staff before leaving in 2010 to run for Chicago mayor, has been floated by the administration as ambassador of China or Japan, NBC News reported.

A decision expected in the coming weeks, according to people with knowledge of the situation, is expected in the coming weeks.

The Biden administration reportedly first considered Emanuel for a Cabinet position but eventually decided against it, NBC News reported.
