President Biden is expected to announce Tuesday the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its guidance for wearing face masks outdoors.

Sources told CNN the president will discuss new CDC guidance during remarks on the state of the pandemic Tuesday, though the final language of the announcement isn’t yet known.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, Biden’s chief medical adviser, told CNN’s Jim Acosta Sunday the CDC “will be coming out with updating their guidelines of what people who are vaccinated can do and even some of who are not vaccinated.”

A November review in the Journal of Infectious Diseases found the odds of viral transmission are 18.7 times greater indoors than out, and less than 10% of coronavirus infections studied took place outside, CNN reported.
