Biden Wins South Carolina Primary

Joe Biden was projected Saturday evening as the winner of the 2020 Democratic presidential primary in South Carolina, a jolt of energy for the recently floundering campaign of the onetime front-runner.

The former vice president’s victory was fueled by strong support from Black voters.

Biden is projected to collect 20 of the 54 delegates up for grabs Saturday, creating some much-needed momentum as Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders has surged to the front of the Democratic pack in recent weeks.

Attention now turns to Super Tuesday next week, when 14 states hold primaries.
