Blacks Make up Majority of Coronavirus Cases, Deaths in Michigan: Report

Black people make up the majority of both coronavirus cases and deaths in Michigan, marking the first time race has been a factor in the state data, the Detroit Free Press reported.
While Michigan has reported 10,791 cases so far, 35 percent of them are Black compared to White people who make up 25 percent of cases and 26 percent of deaths. However, ethnicities of remaining cases and deaths are unknown.
In addition, The Root reported last week that doctors wanted race to be a factor when reporting coronavirus statistics to help point out disparities in testing and care.
