On behalf of breast cancer survivors who’ve lost their hair, the Mane Attractions Virgin Hair and Weaving Salon in Bowie, Md., will host a “Bald Yet Beautiful” event from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., each Saturday in October.

The salon, located at 3231 Superior Lane, Suite A21, will offer women afflicted with breast cancer free haircuts and custom wig fittings.

“When a woman loses her hair, it can be very traumatic,” said salon owner Chelsea Mitchell. “We hope to help as many cancer survivors [as possible] through our cause.”

Door prizes and other giveaways as well as makeup tips and light refreshments will be provided for the event, which is free and open to the public.

People interested in attending may bring a gently used or new wig to their appointment, which can be booked by texting #Cure to 703-973-7146.
