The campus of Bowie State University transformed into a site to honor Ghanaian customs and culture, during the Akwasidae celebration on Saturday, Aug. 29.
Akwasidae celebrates the Asante Kingdom’s heritage and features a royal salute, music, and people dressed in special cultural garments. His Majesty Otumfo Osei Tutu II, asantehene — or king — and custodian of the Golden Stool of the Asante Kingdom, was in attendance.
