Bowser to Host Telephone Town Hall on New Hospital Agreement

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser will host a telephone town hall event Wednesday on the GW Health Hospital and Ambulatory Pavilion hospital agreement at St. Elizabeths East in Ward 8 near the Congress Heights Metro and the Entertainment and Sports Arena.

The dial-in number for the event, which begins at 5 p.m., is 844-881-1314.

The new, state-of-the-art, 136 community hospital with a verified trauma center will look, feel and function much like Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital, officials said.

The agreement ensures that a wide array of health and specialty services will be readily accessible to the residents of Wards 7 and 8, including trauma care, newborn deliveries and maternal health, orthopedic, cardiac and hypertension, cancer, kidney, rehabilitation, general surgery and mental health services.
