Canadaโ€™s chief public health officer has recommended couples refrain from kissing and to wear masks during sex to prevent further spread of the coronavirus.

โ€œSex can be complicated in the time of COVID-19, especially for those without an intimate partner in their household or whose sexual partner is at higher risk for COVID-19,โ€ Theresa Tam said Wednesday in a statement, Agence-France Presse reported. โ€œThe lowest risk sexual activity during COVID-19 involves yourself alone.โ€

Tam also urged condom use, saying there is a โ€œvery low likelihoodโ€ of transmission of the novel coronavirus through seminal or vaginal fluids.
