JESSE JACKSON: At Black History Month 2022, The Work of Dr. King is Still Not Done

by Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr. February 9, 2022February 10, 2022

As we begin our celebration of Black History Month, we have just completed an extraordinary national tribute to a leader who did not amass a fortune, nor command an army, nor hold elective office, and yet transformed America. In the U.S., we too often love martyrs and not marches.

Martin Luther King III, with his wife Andrea and daughter Yolanda march with Rev. Al Sharpton, Rep. U.S. Rep. Shelia Jackson Lee (D-Texas, 18th District), and U.S. Rep. Al Green (D-Texas, 9th District) during the March on Washington for Voting Rights in northwest D.C. on Aug. 28. (Roy Lewis/The Washington Informer)
