Children’s National Hospital has launched a fundraising initiative to help the families of more than 1,500 children who will spend their holidays at the northwest D.C. facility.
The event, which runs through Dec. 31, includes special moments such as Giving Tuesday on Tuesday, Dec. 1, Children’s 150th Birthday on Saturday, Dec. 5, and the campaign finale slated for Thursday, Dec. 31.
The “Reason to Believe” campaign is of particular importance amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which has kept siblings and extended family members from being able to join patients at the hospital to celebrate the holidays with their loved ones, the hospital said in a press release.
