The Chuck Brown Foundation has launched a “Go-Go Relief Campaign” to help go-go bands that are having a tough time during the coronavirus pandemic.
Wiley Brown, son of late go-go icon Chuck Brown and founder of the foundation, told WTTG-TV (Channel 5) that the campaign provides a safety net for bands in the District such as Rare Essence, Backyard Band, EU and Serious Company that haven’t been able to perform amid the pandemic-related shutdowns in the city.
“With the help of the fans and you know, everyone involved, we’ll be collecting donations in order to disperse the money into those different bands,” Wiley said, directing potential supporters to the foundation’s website.
