COVID-19 Vaccine to Be Complimentary or Low Cost: Azar

The coronavirus vaccine sponsored by the US government will be free or affordable for Americans, according Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar.
“For any vaccine that we have bought—so, for instance the Pfizer vaccine—those hundred million doses would actually be acquired by the U.S. government, then given for free to Americans,” Azar said Wednesday on CNBC.
Azar added that vaccines produced by AstraZeneca and Novovax would be the same, and discussions with other companies working on a vaccine remain ongoing.
“We will ensure that any vaccine that we’re involved in sponsoring is either free to the American people or is affordable,” he said.
