Maya Rockeymoore Cummings, widow of Rep. Elijah Cummings, is expected to run for her husband’s House seat, according to a Fox News report.

Cummings, who was up for reelection in 2020, died Thursday due to long-term health complications. He was 68.

Rockeymoore Cummings, chairwoman of the Maryland Democratic Party, remembered her husband of more than 20 years, saying in a statement that he was “an honorable man who proudly served his district and the nation with dignity, integrity, compassion and humility.”

Former Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has also been floated as Cummings’ possible successor.
