A promotions company that operates some of the D.C. area’s largest clubs says negative coronavirus tests will soon no longer be accepted as a means for entry.
I.M.P., which runs the 9:30 Club, The Anthem, Merriweather Post Pavilion and the Lincoln Theatre, announced Thursday that starting Oct. 17, only people who can show proof of full vaccination will be able to enter its venues.
Children under 12 and those with underlying conditions that prevented them from getting vaccinated will be exempted from the policy. In those cases, a negative test in the 48 hours before a show will be accepted, WTOP reported.
I.M.P. said some artists may have stricter policies than the venues, so customers are advised to check the artist’s requirements before buying a ticket, WTOP reported.
