D.C. Celebrates Milestones Reached by Two Amazing Centenarians

Birthday Wishes, Prayers for Many More Go Out to Duo of 'Super Soul Sisters'

The families and friends of several D.C. residents continue to celebrate the birthdays of two women, both of whom recently marked a historic milestone in their lives — 100 years “young.”

Congratulations go out to Mrs. Mary Dixon, born Oct. 19, 1920. She says she loves the Lord and has been a proud member of Bible Way Church of Washington for over 70 years where she remains the oldest missionary.

She’s also a beloved grandmother, aunt, great-grandmother, friend and spiritual mother and grandmother. “Happy 100th birthday grandma. We love you,” her loved ones said.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Mrs. Lottie Wright, a longtime librarian, mother of seven sons, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who marked 100 years on Saturday, Oct. 10.

She’s lived in the District for more than 70 years, earned degrees from American University and Catholic University and says that she continues to love the Lord.
