The D.C. Department of Motor Vehicles will host a child car seat safety check and install event Saturday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the DMV Inspection Station in Southwest.

Representatives from the District Department of Transportation and the Metropolitan Police Department will also be onsite to demonstrate how to correctly install a child safety seat. Residents can also learn whether their children are in the right seat for their age, weight and height and that their seat is correctly installed in the vehicle.

Free booster seats will be provided, while supplies last, to families with children who are at least 4 years old. The booster seats are only available to District residents, and the child must be present.
