D.C.โ€™s Department of Motor Vehicles will again begin offering walk-in service starting next month.

In-person services will be open to customers on a first-come, first-served basis at Adjudication Services beginning on July 19, and at each of the DMV Service Centers on July 20, WTOP reported. DMV locations at 95 M Street SW and the Inspection Station will have special weekend hours for in-person services on June 27, July 3, July 11 and July 18.

Additionally, the M Street location will be open from 8:15 a.m.-4 p.m., and the Inspection Station from 6 a.m.- 2 p.m. on those dates.

The DMV will adhere to appointments made through July 17. Residents can still schedule appointments through July 17.

However, road tests for commercial and standard driverโ€™s licenses will remain by appointment only.

The DMV encourages using its services without visiting an office.

โ€œMost necessary services are available online, by mail, and through the DC DMV mobile app,โ€ a department news release said, WTOP reported. โ€œFor example, renewals for vehicle registration are only available through those methods โ€” they are not conducted in person.โ€

The department said its Document Verification Guide is available to residents to ensure they have the required documents before going to a DMV location.
