The Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George’s County, part of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, announced the return of the Dallas Black Dance Theatre to the Publick Playhouse in Cheverly for another year of public performances, senior matinees, and master classes over a four-day residency.

From April 18-21, DBTD will present two master classes, two senior matinees, and three weekend performances for all ages at the playhouse. One of this year’s highlight performances will be “Falling into Place” by Alysia Johnson, which had its world premiere during DBDT’s February show, Cultural Awareness.

In this story of interconnectedness, the audience can celebrate and appreciate the concept of falling. With the 47th season themed ILLUMINATION, performances will explore the connections, energy and the power of collective expression while showcasing DBDT’s commitment to exceptional skill and motivation.

The Master Classes in African and Liturgical Dance will take place 6 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. It costs $20 per person to participate, $10 to observe, https://bit.ly/3SMtDj.

April 18 & 19, 11 a.m. — Platinum Series for Seniors Ages 60 and Better. Tickets are $15 per person. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to https://bit.ly/3VxhE1u.
