Dallas to host 2024 U.S.-Africa Business Summit, promoting trade and investment between Africa and U.S.

Florizelle Liser, President & CEO of Corporate Council on Africa, led a planning team to Dallas, Texas to meet with the business community, city government, and visit the venues for the 2024 U.S.-Africa Business Summit. Facilitated by CCA Chairman John Olajide and his Dallas-based Axxess team, Ms. Liser undertook the visit in order to finalize various logistical aspects for the Summit, and welcome the engagement of the Dallas business community and city government.

Given an enthusiastic welcome by the Board of Directors of the Dallas Regional Chamber of
Commerce , Ms. Liser briefed preparations for the 2024 U.S.-Africa Business Summit to be held May 6-9 in Dallas. There was a tremendous commitment by the Dallas business community to the strategic importance of and business case for strengthening U.S.-Africa business and investment relationships, which has extended to the formation of a Dallas Host Committee to support the success of the Summit.

Chairman of Hillwood, Ross Perot Jr., gathered the Dallas Host Committee for a kick-off reception for the 2024 Summit. Mr. Perot underscored the importance of American business partnering with African businesses to advance mutually beneficial trade and business relationships.

Addressing the Host Committee members, CCA President & CEO Florie Liser said, “We know in bringing the U.S.-Africa Business Summit to Dallas that we will bring together the best that Africa has to offer with the best that the United States has to offer!”

Also, during this visit, Florie Liser and the CCA planning team were welcomed by representatives of the City of Dallas and Office of the Mayor of Dallas, along with the “Visit Dallas!” travel & tourism promotion team. With a focus on partnering for private sector-led growth, the city’s government offered its support to ensuring the success of the 2024 U.S.-Africa Business Summit.

Accompanied by Director of Conferences and Events Jo Melissa Gonzalez, Ms. Liser toured
the Summit venue – the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in downtown Dallas, as well as the site of the opening day Gala Welcome Reception and hotel partner the Fairmont
Dallas. The Convention Center is the ideal venue, permitting incredible space for impactful plenary sessions and High Level Dialogues and panels, as well as stunning exhibit space for
sponsoring companies and organizations.
