Grammy-nominated gospel singer/songwriter Dayna Caddell is set to release “God Loves You,” the latest single and music video from her album “Push.”

“Push,” which was released in July, is produced by Grammy-winning producer Warryn Campbell (Mary Mary, Dru Hill) and Vann Clayton and features Israel Houghton and Erica Campbell.

“The album is full of stories of life experiences … filled with the hope and the goodness of God. It will really uplift you,” Caddell said. “[The album] takes you on a ride … uplifts you. God in your life is the best thing you can have. This is my first LP. I had singles and written for other artists, but this is my first LP.”

Houghton is featured on “So Grateful” and Eric Dawkins appears on “Overjoyed,” while Clayton assists on “Adore” and “Crazy.”

“I wrote on Erica Campbell’s record. … I’ve been writing with Warryn for years,” Caddell informed me when I asked about her hookup with Campbell, one of the best contemporary gospel producers in the business, and Houghton, a trendsetting and star-making artist. “The Campbells are a busy family. The Israel thing was a blessing. My sister’s been his publicist. I didn’t feel he would, but he did!”

The album was a long time in the making. Caddell, who is also an accomplished interior designer, began “feeling out” artists for collaborations on the album, which took time, particularly after she was diagnosed with autoimmune syndrome and had to sit it out for about four years.

Once she resumed working, she released her debut album “Push” on her own Push Forty Entertainment label on eOne Entertainment.

“I came from … mainstream music. When I first felt the tug on my heart, it was [for] inspirational [music]. God showed me to ‘be you’ and deliver the message,” the Dove-nominated songwriter said about her vocal style, described as urban inspirational. “It became organic … started collaborating with so many people, Warryn Campbell is a production master. … Erica Campbell did background.”

Caddell’s music business resume is extensive — background vocals for Diana Ross for a Super Bowl celebration, backing up pop artist Bisou Phillips on the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” — and her songwriting credits include “Every Prayer” for Israel Houghton and Mary Mary, co-writing “Power of the Cross” for Ricardo Sanchez, “Wish You Well” for Dave Hollister, and her own “What He’s Done” with Warryn Campbell.
