The D.C. Chamber of Commerce brought together business leaders, policymakers, civic officials and representatives from some of the Washington region’s most influential sports, entertainment, tourism and hospitality organizations on Sept. 25 for its annual State of the District & Region Conference at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg Center on Pennsylvania Avenue NW.

The convening served as a forum for examining the economic forces affecting Washington, D.C., and the broader metropolitan region.

The “Experience Economy: Sports, Entertainment, and Hospitality Shaping the Region” panel was particularly focused on the industries that bring people into the city, encourage visitors and residents to spend money locally, and contribute to the continuing transformation of downtown Washington.
