DC Health Link Aims to ‘Power Up’ East of the River Businesses

DC Health Link has partnered with Union Temple Baptist Church, Anacostia Economic Development Corporation and Life Assets to bring critical resources and opportunities to small businesses located east of the Anacostia River with a free information session by POWER UP DC: EAST.

The “Access to Capital for Small Businesses” forum takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the Department of Housing and Community Development Resource Center in Southeast and will provide small businesses information on how the Affordable Care Act can benefit them and their employees. The session will also encourage small businesses to enroll in quality affordable health insurance.

In addition, POWER UP DC: EAST will provide financial experts with access to capital for small businesses; businesses with resources on accessing capital; opportunities to learn about the small business marketplace provisions of the ACA and health insurance coverage options offered through DC Health Link; and opportunities for one-on-one counseling with Small Business Administration certified small business counselors.
