The DC JazzFest will return for its 21st year from Aug. 27-31, featuring performances across more than a dozen venues throughout Washington.

The festival’s main events will be Aug. 30-31 at The Wharf, a waterfront area known for dining and shopping, and at nearby Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater.

The Wharf will host multiple outdoor stages, including the DCJazzPrix international competition for emerging jazz bands at Union Stage. Arena Stage will present performances and “Meet the Artist” events where fans can interact with performers.

“The DC JazzFest is a true gem of Washington’s cultural calendar,” said Elliott L. Ferguson II, president and CEO of Destination DC, the city’s marketing organization. “It’s the perfect way to close out summer in the nation’s capital.”

The festival will feature local and international performers, including emerging artists and National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters. Events will include panel discussions and artist conversations.

“The DC JazzFest brings together extraordinary artists and audiences in some of the most iconic settings in our nation’s capital,” said Sunny Sumter, president and CEO of the DC Jazz Festival.

Festival organizers plan to announce the full lineup soon.
