Eleven days of parties, film screenings, free workshops and numerous opportunities to meet with international directors and filmmakers kicks off this week at the 2018 DC Shorts Film Festival.

The festival, which runs Thursday, Sept. 6 through Sunday, Sept. 16, showcases one of the largest collections of short films in the United States. Moviegoers will enjoy 130 plus short films from more than 30 countries, covering all genres, with 18 showcases and nine Special Interest Showcases at E Street Cinema and Miracle Theater.

Featured films include “63 Boycott,” “Bini,” “Before Prison,” “Beneath the Ink,” “Civil,” “Manspreading,” “Poker Night,” “Six Miles Out,” “Wham” and more.

One collection, Cinema 10%, comprised of seven films and running approximately 120 minutes, will showcase the best of the LGBTQ shorts.
