EdFEST, the cityโ€™s annual school fair to explore educational options, will take place on Dec. 7 and 14, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser announced in her weekly e-newsletter on Friday.

โ€œI have said it many times: our schools are a bright spot in the story of D.C.,โ€ Bowser said. โ€œOver the past several weeks, Iโ€™ve had the pleasure of speaking with multiple student groups, at schools and in the community, including at the University of the District of Columbia and what I know is that our young people are smart, engaged, and tremendous ambassadors of our D.C. values. Iโ€™m grateful for the educators who challenge and love our students; Iโ€™m grateful for the community organizations who partner with us to keep students safe and engaged; and Iโ€™m grateful for all the partners โ€“ in D.C. government and in the community โ€“ who are working with us to ensure our students are in school every day, on time.

EdFEST will take place on two dates:

  • Grades 9-12: Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. at Eastern High School in NE
  • PK3-Grade 8: Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. at the DC Armory in NE

โ€œAt EdFEST, you’ll meet representatives from (District of Columbia Public Schools) DCPS and public charter schools and have the opportunity to ask questions about school programs, support services, and extracurricular activities so that you can choose the best fit for your child,โ€ the mayor said. โ€œWhether you will be new to the school system or just exploring your options, EdFEST is your one-stop shop for making informed decisions about your child’s education. So, mark your calendars and don’t miss out.โ€
