Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Wednesday endorsed Joe Bidenโ€™s bid for president, getting behind the former vice president just weeks after suspending her own run for the Democratic nomination.

Warren announced her decision in a message on Twitter, saying the county needs an empathetic president like Biden to help Americans reconnect with the federal government.

โ€œIn this moment of crisis, it is more important than ever that the next president restores Americansโ€™ faith in good, effective government,โ€ Warren tweeted. โ€œJoe Biden has spent nearly his entire life in public service. He knows that a government run with integrity, confidence and heart will save lives and save livelihoods.โ€
