The Capital Area Food Bank recently received a $150,000 gift from the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation to address food insecurity issues in the D.C. metropolitan area.

The donation is part of Enterprise’s Fill Your Tank program, which was founded in 2016 to help fight global hunger.

Enterprise has donated over $1 million to the Capital Area Food Bank, and its employees have volunteered in the food bank’s northeast Washington warehouse over the years, the food bank said in a statement.

Giuseppe Carfango, Enterprise’s regional vice president for the D.C. area, said the company is “committed to promoting long-term growth and prosperity in the communities we serve, all of which face some level of food insecurity.”

“Often, hunger is an issue that doesn’t get the attention it deserves, Carfango said. “We are proud to support the Capital Area Food Bank in its fight against hunger.”
