Bestselling author Eric Jerome Dickey has died following a long illness. He was 59.

Dickey, famous for novels such as โ€œFriends and Loversโ€ and โ€œBetween Lovers,โ€ died Sunday in Los Angeles, according to his longtime publisher Random House.

His cousin, La Verne Madison Fuller, wrote in a social media post, โ€œI am heartbroken. Guys, when God tells you to do something, just do it. Just a few weeks ago, God woke me up to text him and say that I loved him. He let me know that he loved us too.โ€

Dickey was the author of 29 novels.
