Infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci will join D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser this week for the cityโ€™s third annual National Maternal and Infant Health Summit.

The four-day summit โ€” titled โ€œRethinking Our Perspectives, Retooling Our Actions: A Life Course Approach to Improving Maternal and Infant Wellbeingโ€ โ€” kicks off Tuesday and aims to bring together activists, parents, and public officials for a discussion on โ€œWhat Weโ€™ve Learned from COVID-19: The Pandemicโ€™s Impact on Perinatal Health and Our Next Steps,โ€ according to Bowserโ€™s office.

Others expected to join the panels include Rep. Robin Kelly (D-Ill.) and Dr. Aletha Maybank, chief health equity officer for the American Medical Association.

Errin Haines, editor-at-Large at The 19th, will serve as moderator.
