Infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci will join D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser this week for the city’s third annual National Maternal and Infant Health Summit.
The four-day summit — titled “Rethinking Our Perspectives, Retooling Our Actions: A Life Course Approach to Improving Maternal and Infant Wellbeing” — kicks off Tuesday and aims to bring together activists, parents, and public officials for a discussion on “What We’ve Learned from COVID-19: The Pandemic’s Impact on Perinatal Health and Our Next Steps,” according to Bowser’s office.
Others expected to join the panels include Rep. Robin Kelly (D-Ill.) and Dr. Aletha Maybank, chief health equity officer for the American Medical Association.
Errin Haines, editor-at-Large at The 19th, will serve as moderator.
