
(Daily Digest News) – General Motors announced Monday the pricing structure for its long-awaited in-vehicle 4G LTE service, coming next month.
The service will launch with a three month or three gigabyte trial period, whichever comes first. After that, existing OnStar subscribers will be able to use 200 megabytes of data for an extra $5 more per month, enough to stream more than 6.5 hours of music according to AT&T’s data usage calculator. Onstar costs between $200 a year and $300 a year,The Wall Street Journal reports. Non-subscribers will receive the 200 megabyte package for $10 per month.
Customers who want more data will be able to use up to 5 gigabytes worth for $50 per month. Alternatively, customers will be able to make one-time purchases of 250 megabytes for $5 or 10 gigabytes for $200.
