Gregg Leakes, Husband of ‘Real Housewives’ Star NeNe Leakes, Dead From Colon Cancer at Age 66

Gregg Leakes, the entrepreneur husband of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star NeNe Leakes, has died from colon cancer. He was 66.

Leakes died “peacefully” in his home Wednesday while surrounded by his family, People reported, citing a statement from publicist and longtime family friend Ernest Dukes.

“Today the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart. After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones and wife Nene Leakes,” Dukes said.

NeNe Leakes addressed her husband’s health during an event at a Duluth, Georgia, lounge on Saturday, telling a crowd that her husband was “transitioning to the other side.” Video of the incident made the rounds online in the following days.

In addition to his wife, Leakes is survived by six children, Daryl, Damian, Dexter, Denton and Katrina, as well as his and NeNe’s son, Brentt. He was also a stepfather to NeNe’s son Bryson, whom she had from a previous relationship.
