Hillary Clinton has raised eyebrows with an off-color joke she made Friday night when an interviewer confused New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker with former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.
During a sit-down with Recode’s Kara Swisher at the 92nd Street Y in New York City, Clinton was asked what she thought about a comment by Holder, who Swisher incorrectly referred to as Booker.
Clinton quickly corrected Swisher before offering a seemingly inappropriate quip.
“I know they all look alike,” Clinton responded almost instinctively as the audience laughed.
Swisher, in trying to quickly clean up what appeared to be Clinton’s innocent dig, said, “No, they don’t,” before adding, “Oh, well done.”
Clinton’s took many by surprise, particularly since the former Democratic presidential nominee has been overwhelmingly supported by Black voters.
