The Howard University men’s basketball team announced Friday that it has paused all activities due to positive COVID-19 test results among the program’s “Tier 1” personnel, which consists of student-athletes, coaches, medical staff, equipment staff, game-day operators, and officials.

The team will remain in quarantine and will not return to basketball activities until cleared pursuant to CDC and university protocols.

As a result, this weekend’s (Jan. 9-10) scheduled games with Delaware State have been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.

The university places the safety of our student-athletes first and foremost. We will continue to conduct robust testing and require our student-athletes to observe safety and social distancing guidelines.
