The PG Brave football team’s game against the Baltimore Rams was called off in the third quarter Saturday due to multiple injuries, with the Brave trailing 22-0 at the time of the stoppage.
Despite the abbreviated contest, fans turned out in rainy conditions to support the first-year semi-professional team. The Ruff Ryders Marching Band performed throughout the evening, while vendors served attendees at the Prince George’s County venue.
Signal Financial Federal Credit Union, a team sponsor, attended the game before heading to Howard University’s contest.
“This was a tough night for our team on the field, but what stood out most was the unwavering support from our fans, partners, and community,” said LaDonna M. Smith, owner of the PG Brave. “We are a first-year program, and while challenges are part of the journey, our commitment to building a strong foundation for semi-pro football in Prince George’s County has never been stronger.”
Smith said the team will “regroup, recover, and continue to fight for our players, our fans, and our mission” as they continue their inaugural season.
The organization aims to provide a professional semi-professional football experience for Prince George’s County and surrounding areas.
