Tickets for the Johnny Gill concert slated this weekend in Alexandria, Va., have been sold out.
However, fans can still see the show at 3 p.m., Sunday, July at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.
The “Summer Jam Day Party Dance and Show” features Gill performing with special guest Be’La Dona. A cash bar will be available, and d’oeuvres will be served.
Gill, a D.C. native, who attended Duke Ellington School of the Arts, started singing at the age of five in church in a family gospel group called Little Johnny and “Wings of Faith” which included his brothers Bobby, Jeff, and Randy Gill.
In 1987, the singer and songwriter was recruited by Michael Bivins to join New Edition, before collaborated in 1997 with Gerald Levert and Keith Sweat to form the supergroup LSG (Levert/Sweat/Gill), which yielded the multi- platinum debut album, Levert.Sweat.Gill. In 2004, Gill reunited with New Edition.
