Kanye West, fresh off last week’s controversial visit to the White House, met with Uganda President Yoweri Museveni while in Africa with his wife Kim Kardashian West to work on a new album.

The couple met Monday with Museveni at the State House in Entebbe, where they gifted a pair of sneakers to the president. West reportedly talked with Museveni about his interest in creating a tourism and hospitality school for higher education.

“I held fruitful discussions with the duo on how to promote Uganda’s tourism and the arts. I thank Kanye for the gift of white sneakers,” Museveni tweeted afterwards.
