Kwanzaa is an annual celebration of African-American culture from December 26 to January 1. Do you celebrate Kwanzaa? Why or why not?

Paris Berry, Washington, D.C.

Absolutely. I was raised on Christmas and still celebrate. However, the tenets of Kwanzaa are important, and we have a ball celebrating our culture and heritage.

Sheerin James, Washington, D.C.

No. It wasnโ€™t known in the Caribbean. I only heard about it as an adult. And to be honest, I canโ€™t say I have ever looked into it.

Eric Davis, Washington, D.C.

Yes, and improving on it every year!

Karen Hooks, Baton Rouge, La.

I would love to, but I donโ€™t know where to start.

Phil R., Willingboro, N.J.

Absolutely! Itโ€™s a beautiful and amazing holiday for our people. It brings me much pride and happiness each year.
