I. A New Day For A New Life

A. The Holy City’s descriptions as John saw it:

  1. Has the glory of God v.11a
  2. Her light was like a jasper v.11b
  3. A high wall v.12a
  4. Twelve gates and twelve names vv.12b,13
  5. Names on the wall v.14
  6. The golden reed v.15
  7. Jerusalem – A four square city vv.16,17
  8. A city of rich and regal beauty vv.18-21
  9. No church building there v.22
  10. The Lamb is the light v.23
  11. Only holy traffic there vv.24,26
  12. No security needed v.25
  13. Righteous admissions only v.27

Let’s talk about it:

  1. In vv.11-27 how many different descriptions are given to describe the Church in the new kingdom? Discuss with others what you think these descriptions mean to the reward of the Christian Church. Google for some of your answers and let others know what you found. Things like:
  • the glory of God
  • a jasper stone
  • twelve gates
  • names written on the gates
  • twelve foundations
  • twelve apostles of the Lamb
  • golden reed to measure the city
  • foursquare
  • an hundred and forty and four cubits
