LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Rest in Power

What a beautiful tribute to Garth Reeves Sr. I’d never heard of him but I’m glad I took the time to read about his life and legacy and what he’s done for Black people in media in Miami and around the country. Rest easy, Mr. Reeves.

Black women sweeping the top beauty pageants doesn’t really do anything for me. I don’t know — is it just me? These beauty pageants are outdated and built on patriarchy and white supremacy and what the white man says is beautiful. Seems like we’re constantly trying to prove were beautiful to the white man and others. Black is beautiful 365. Away with beauty pageants.
