The Life Success Center for Children, Youth, and Families, in partnership with the Department of Employment Services, will present the acclaimed 2018 Marion Barry Summer Youth Employment Program as a Youth Film Festival.
The festival will debut seven short films, with a selection of works curated by District youth from MBSYEP and Life Success Center Summer program professionals at Trinity University.
This summer, the Life Success Center in collaboration with MBSYEP, included the opinions of all 75 youth whose collective ideas heavily contributed to the structure of this year’s program.
Youth ages 14-20, developed into creators, producers, videographers, editors, costume designers, and more, with a huge amount of excitement centered around these projects, as youth crammed an abundance of creativity and success into the 6-week program.
The projects will be exhibited at 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 31 at Miracle Theater in Southeast DC, 6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 1 at AFI Silver in Silver Spring, Md., and 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 2 at the E Street Cinema.
