The Marine Corps Marathon is back.
The annual event will be live and in person this year after going virtual in 2020 amid to the coronavirus pandemic.
The marathon will be held from Oct. 29-31 in the District and Arlington.
Rick Nealis, the marathon’s director, said the event will abide by local coronavirus-related guidelines with a smaller field of participants and staggered start times for runners to allow socially distancing, WTOP reported.
Nealis expects the race to have 15,000 runners, or about two-thirds of its usual field.
Those who are currently registered for a virtual run or didn’t participate in the 2020 events will have the first opportunity to switch to the live event, WTOP reported.
